"I am the light of the world.  He that followeth me, shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life."  - John 8:12

Sunflowers have always amazed me.  No matter where they are planted, in a carefully manicured garden or in the rough patches on the side of the road, sunflowers have the ability to track the sun across the sky.  

I strive to be like those sunflowers.  Unfortunately, I have not grown in a manicured garden of a life.  It has been wonderful but I have had my share of experiences that have lead me to deal with PTSD, anxiety, depression, suicide, and a few other mental health struggles.  There have been times where I have turned away from the Son, Jesus Christ, to try to grow through those hard times alone without His help and instead of growing, I was weaker to those struggles.  

However, when I finally allowed myself to turn back to God and His Son, I have been able to grown even when I am struggling with those trials.  Just as the scripture says, you can't walk in darkness when you walk with Him.  Follow the Son like sunflowers follow the Earth's life force and you will grow too.
